Well, I’m looking for DSLR before, I could not decide between the Canon XS or pentaxK-X, but I finally decided and bought a Canon XS.
Unlike Canon Pentax KX has many additional features, such as HD-video recording of body image stabilization, but I chose Canon because it is a “standard” (I think more people are using, so you can find additional support for community, blogs, forums, etc.).
Something I really liked and I’m missing petax Canon, uses AA batteries, but can not be all of one camera: (
I am very pleased with the picture quality it provides, and even a kit lens! The problem is that if extra telephoto lens has image stabilization (yes, this is a camera stabilizer body, which relies on the lens), and using telephoto lenses on cloudy days or in low light, no nothing. Pentax KX has image stabilization built body so any lens you can get a consolidation, it is not Canon.
The second error model, the materials feel a bit thin and plastic. Even most of the DSLR-like point and shoots are stronger. The second model, XSI, so it is stronger than, and I think it is worth the extra money.
Otherwise (and weaknesses), I’m generally satisfied with the image quality (at the end of all, this is the most important thing the camera). If you have the budget you have in mind, it gives you more bang for the buck!

Awesome camera!
I’m strictly an amateur photographer who was looking for the best “point and shoot” I could find, with various lens options and the option to learn manual camera operations at my leisure. I had recently bought a Nikon Coolpix S710 and was unhappy with its performance. Even the miniature size proved to be a turn-off, and the lack of a view finder annoyed this old-timer. The photo results were nothing but ordinary, at best. The baby Nikon proved to me that I wanted a “full-size” camera with view finder, and one with versatility and high quality results.
I read lots of reviews, thanks to Amazon, decided on a price maximum, and finally settled on the Canon Rebel XS. Right out of the box, the results were, well, astounding, using the automatic setting only. The images are sharp, the color is superb, and the flexibility of the lenses all come together for a downright enjoyable experience. The automatic focus is great. The built-in flash does a great job. Every picture I take is above average. The camera is intelligent and always seem to know what settings it should use.
The package offered by Cameta Camera is a bargain. For 9.95 it included two lenses, a spare battery, 4GB card, adequate camera/gadget bag, camera strap, so it was ready to go right out of the box. Every item offered by Cameta was accounted for and supplied as advertised, and promptly shipped.
Some people may not like its larger size, and with a separately purchased Canon EF-S 18-200mm lens it is a bit heavy (and pricey), but I find that an asset, and very “professional” looking. It’s got a natural “hold” that’s comfortable, while the standard 18-55mm lens is much smaller and lighter and easy to manage.
The package also comes with a 75-300mm zoom lens which I haven’t used yet. It seems more geared to specialized use for strictly zooming situations.
I judge the Canon XS Rebel package from Cameta Camera as a “best buy” that should prove hard to beat for the price and quality. Using a card reader, I transferred all my pics to an Apple puter, and they look great on the screen.

I love this camera especially for sport photos
There is nothing I do not like about this camera. It is great for sports, my son plays college baseball and I have taken some great pics! It is easy to learn and came with everything you need plus extras that were good quality not junk. The vendor shipped this item earlier than expected and one cable was back ordered, I did not have to remind them to send it. Great price for everything you get.

I shopped around for a while looking for the best deal. This was a great deal with the extras I needed. I love having both lenses. I was able to get the whole package for the price of just the camera at local stores. I have taken some great pictures so far of my kids sports activities. We also took a lot of pictures at the zoo.
The only problem I had was that one of the bag clips broke after just a few days but I notified the company and they responded right away and sent out 2 extra clips to replace the broken one. Great customer service. I will buy from this company again when I need additional items for my camera.

Review Canon T2i Body Only
This is my 4th Canon EOS, after 1 film one I’ve had 300D, 450D, and now 550D. while the cameras are getting better for obvious reasons, the ergonomy is getting worse and worse. each model is smaller, harder to hold, and more painful for my fingers, especially with my heavy lenses. if there was a comparable middle-class model, I would happily pay more to get it, but unfortunately feature-wise there seems to be no competition except for the highest models. I love the sensitivity and lack of noise of the sensor, great new display, and the movies are really crisp.
I replaced my Canon Rebel XSi with the new Canon EOS T2i. This new camera produces the most crisp images. It is so much fun to take pictures and movies. Also the contrast is more prominent with the T2i. The Rebel XSi did well, but the Canon EOS T2i truly wins in my opinon.
The new movie feature was a bit tricky for me. The booklet doesn’t really help you there. However you can find on the internet lots of very helpful tutorials with lots of details and information you need. And the fun get started.
Once again, Canon has raised the bar with the T2i, providing even more still-image resolution, and a high-def video mode with full control over exposure, resolution and frame rate, plus the ability to use autofocus during videos.
Compare to others – this is a winner !
The rebel has a lot of features, but it is still easy to use. You can pick it up and start using it right away. You get amazing pictures with wonderful, beautiful colors.
I will make this short and sweet. Best DSLR for money spent. I’ve been looking for a DSLR and this one beats out most if not all at it’s price range. Though I need to stress, you need a fast Flash Memory Card, something in the range of 15MB/s (150X to 200X) to make sure your pictures snap faster & video plays smoother. I Highly recommend this product, it kills all regular digital cameras by far with superb 1080p video & picture quality.
Made a few cuts to make it longer.

What’s So Great About the New Canon Eos 500D?
What’s so great about the new Canon Eos 500D, anyway? Doesn’t Canon already have enough offerings out there that they don’t need to throw any more in our direction? Really, isn’t’ the Eos 500D just gratuitous?
Actually, no. It has several features that are usually only available on professional-level models, but it costs slightly less than 0. What are the features that make it provide such a big bang for the buck?
1. DIGIC 4 professional-level processor. This is the powerhouse of the new Eos 500D. The DIGIC 4 means that the camera keeps low noise all the way up to 800 ISO, so you can get clear shots of everything but Jake Peavy’s pitches or a cheetah running downhill.
The processor also lets users take great VGA-quality video. It records a 1920×1080-size image, 720p at 30 frames per second. This is the standard for Internet playback and allows anyone to easily show off their expertise on YouTube or their own website.
2. Compatibility. Not only is the 500D compatible with all of the Eos Speedlites–it’s also compatible with every Canon lens currently on the market. So if you already have a super-telephoto, wide-angle, or any large-aperture lens–even the ones made for the Canon’s professional models–you’ll find using them with your new 500D a snap (literally!)
3. Excellent user interface. Canon has changed the Eos 500D up a little from the rest of the Eos line. Perhaps most important is its new vertical control dial which replaces the standard horizontal one.
This new vertical dial should lower thumb-flicking accidents that can either throw the shot out of focus, resulting either in a bad shot or potentially causing the photographer to loose a shot while he or she re-adjusts.
4. Low learning curve. The 500D is just one generation down form Canon’s XSi. It weighs the same–1.2 pounds–and has the same basic body. This means that users of the XSi can adjust to it without problem. It also means that new Canon owners should have an easy time aiming and steadying the new 500D–Canon’s most advanced amateur model to date!

After watching the video features of the new Canon 5D mark II, I tought “Hmm, let me see if i can do that with my XSi”, so this is a preliminar video test i did at night, soon i will do a more better test (something like Vincent Laforet did). I notice, like the Canon 5Dmk2, with a canon F1.4 lens and ISO1600 i could capture very low light and even the city at night look impresive (you can even see the mountain at night, imposible to capture in a handycam), only that in HD you can see some chroma noise in the dark areas, at ISO800 look better but darker. This is the cheapest way (with just the 600$ XSi body and a 90$ 50mm F1.8 lens) to have a nice “film-like” depth of field and also capture in an incredible low light conditions. Of course this is a APS-C camera, with the 5D mk2 full frame sensor and ISO up to 25600 will look a lot much better!

I waited very patiently for the camera and was excited when I finally got two of them, my husband, one for me.
When we use them we noticed a problem between the program.
I used the sports mode to capture the birds flying in the midday sun in Florida and kicked the camera’s ISO 3200! Needless to say, so that the images were overexposed, and really loud. I called Canon tech I talked to found it too much in relation to ISO. He even went so far as to go out and test one of its players were involved and got the same result. So the programming problem, not my specific camera.
I used the camera last night, the night scenery, and received ISO 400! It’s almost like the sensor is restored, this ISO so the sun and the darkness is not enough.
The only thing that Canon would shoot in manual mode and then I could control settings. Well, fine, but why the program even if the way may very well? My husband used to buy a sports car than a 5-speed gearbox and the car. Generally used a 5-speed manual, but sometimes you want to be lazy and just use auto and Cruise. So how would you feel if the car’s transmission does not work?
I can not see paying $ 900 + for a camera that has only a few usuable control. Fortunately there was still time to return and was sent back and refund your money. I’ll stick to my XTi, which is much better.
Note: I gave one star, because it is the smallest I could give this review. Minus one would be correct!

Everything I was hoping for
Wanted a step up from compact cameras. I tried the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 but the focus wasn’t as fast and low light pictures were not great. Doesn’t seem to be a substitute for a good SLR.

Great improvements over XSi, T1i
I think that all of the approx 6 improvements over an XSi (used earlier) and T1i are significant. The sensor and the image processor definitely improve the picture quality in various difficult conditions. The increased mega-pixels help if you need to do crops or large prints else you can use it at around 8megs. The HD video is smooth. The LCD is pretty good. The quick setting button etc are very handy. The native eye-fi interface is neat when used with a wifi SD card. I’m using it with a Tamron “AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Aspherical IF Macro Zoom Lens” and so far I really like the results.

T2i is amazing. Whether you want a nice HD camera for fun, to take some pictures, to start a Photo/Video business or to produce an Indie Film…the T2i is a great option for the price. If used correctly the Video can come out looking VERY Cinematic. Slap on a nice L Series lens, shoot in 24p and use a Glidetrack for some dolly shots and you won’t believe the results.
I loved it so much I bought a second one. My only gripe is the sound and the lack of manual control in that area…but I record all of my audio on an external device anyways so it’s not THAT big of a deal. It’s just that, every once in a while I’d like to go out and throw on any old mic and get some decent audio…and I have yet to really do that.
Small gripe for me personally. You may need to invest in a Rode Shotgun mic to get some decent audio if you don’t record externally.
